Hobbits in Lord of the Rings
Hobbits
The main protagonist of the book, Bilbo Baggins is a Hobbit. The average height of a Hobbit is 2-4 feet tall. They are stout creatures with slightly pointed ears, and have no beards. A Hobbit's average life expectancy is about 100 years and their "coming of age" is at 33 years old. So even when a Hobbit is 50 years old, it is only considered middle age. Sometimes, Hobbits can live up to 150 years. They are very shy creatures but capable of many things. Their favorite colors are yellow and green (according to the prologue of The Lord of the Rings).

Daily activities of Hobbits usually consist of farming, eating and socializing within their own race. Hobbits have a surprisingly large appetite for such bite sized creatures. They eat around seven meals a day, therefore they have quite a few pantries that are filled to the brim with food.

Hobbits live in holes in the ground that are only one level and have no stairs. To get from one room to the next, you would move through a hall-like tunnel. All of the best rooms in the hole are on the left hand side, (because they have windows) but the ones on the right hand side are also very nice. Hobbit-holes are not dirty or nasty holes, but are clean and quite comfortable. The floors are tiled and carpeted and there are lots of pegs for hats and coats because hobbits are very fond of visitors.
